The 2-5kHz bridge is the frequency range where the cowbell operates with maximum perceptual impact. Human hearing is most sensitive between 2-4kHz (the Fletcher-Munson curve), which means the cowbell's primary resonance sits exactly where our ears are most attuned. This is not an accident — it's physics.

The cowbell's metallic transient creates a sharp onset that cuts through dense arrangements without sustained energy that would compete with vocals (1-4kHz) or cymbals (8-16kHz). It occupies the “bridge” between vocal presence and cymbal air, acting as perceptual glue.
